Formative assessment has allowed teachers (or at least, me), to focus more on the student's progress tant in their results. From my perspective, this is a fair view of each individual since the departing point of our learners is different from one another. Moreover, it also provides the learners with a more engaging and positive feedback, which at the same time, they can self-improve since real feedback is given to them before the final evaluation.
